The Range

Open and league shooting

The range is located in upper Bidwell Park between Horseshoe Lake and the Golf Course.

The range is open to the public every Wednesday night from 7 pm to 9 pm all year.
The range is open on Saturday from 9 am to 11 am.
Hours are subject to change in the summer months.
Range fees. $5.00 per session. $2.50 for members.

The range can also be opened by appointment for unschedueled events.

Shooters provide their own gear.
Eye and ear protections is required!
Muzzle velocity must not exceed 1200 fps.
No high powered rifles, shotguns, black powder or mangnum loads what so ever!
Airguns and .22 cal. rifles can also be fired.
The distance is 50 feet and targets are provided.

Chico Rod and Gun Club has many Certified Instuctors and Range Safety Officers.

Monday’s

First Monday of each month General Board Meeting open to all members. 7:30pm

Law Dawgs & CCW Practice is open to non-members second Monday

Tuesday Jr. Rifle Small Bore:

Junior’s meets Tuesday evenings. Registration is last Tuesday of October at 7PM. Run’s from the first Tuesday in November until last Tuesday in March 7-10PM

Junior Rifle Safety Classes:

1^st & 2^nd Saturday in September & October

Wednesday:

Open year round to the public 7-9PM Range open to handguns and .22 cal. Rifles. Range Fees: $2.50 for members & $5.00 for non-members.

Thursday Senior Small Bore Rifle & Pistol Leagues:

November to April: Senior Small bore rifle competition 7-10pm

Pistol Leagues:  Spring league: 2^nd Thursday in April to 1^st Thursday of May 6-10PM Summer League 2^nd Tuesday in June to 2^nd Tuesday in August 6-10pm Fall/Winter leagues: 2^nd Sunday of October to 1^st Sunday in January 6-10pm 

1800 Pistol Match:  $20.00 Begins with the Fall League & runs thru the end of Spring League. Starts on the 2^nd Saturday of each month at 9am (open to non-members)

Friday:

Every 1^st & 3^rd Friday Concealed weapons carry permit qualification.

Range Fees: $20.00 Instruction fees: $20.00 Fees are subject to change, $10.00 per gun, up to four guns.

Senior Rifle Breakfast Practice every Friday 6am

Saturday:

Every 2^nd & 4^th Saturday Concealed weapons permit qualification.

Open by appointment year round.  With the exception of the activities listed above.  
Chico Rod & Gun Club range officer is required for all activities.
Liability Insurance required  for all unscheduled activities.
